Happy Birthday CANCER and LEO Natives!!

Four of the five outermost planets are retrograde this month. We will now be reevaluating on a very deep level the true purpose fo our lives. Questions of values will emerge as we redefine what is important to us and where we next want to put our creative life energy. Jupiter is Retrograde in Capricorn; Uranus is Retrograde in Pisces; Neptune is Retrograde in Aquarius, and Pluto is Retrograde in Sagittarius. If any projects or relationships become stalled, you can use this time to review, make revisions, refresh your perspective or rethink your position.

Also, an important Mars transit begins July 1 when the red planet enters the contellation of Virgo where Saturn already resides. Mars represents speed, action, impulsiveness and dynamic energy. Saturn represents caution, self-discipline and restraint. All of this means that we will have plenty of discipline to work on our future plans, but we can also experience frustration if we don't use this energy in specific, task-oriented ways. If you are going in a direction that others oppose, this would be the time to pull back, look at the big picture, and devise an approach that will not meet with resistance or opposition.

Venus and Mercury join the Sun in moving through Cancer and oppose Jupiter in Capricorn at various times during the month. As a result you'll want to spend time at home with family, while at the same time go out into the world, expand your horizons and advance in your profession.
Uranus began it's once-a-year retrograde period on June 26th and will stay that wai until November 27th. Uranus transits can bring about disruptions and instability as part of a larger part of change and delivers new experiences and unusual events. It also brings out an individual's need to express himself freely and experiment in order to make positive changes in the world. You may experience a rebellious need to replace things (or people) in your life that no longer fit your view of the world. You'll feel the need to reexamine the changes that have occurred as you look for reasons why certain things that seemed just fine yesterday do not seem quite right today. You will become aware of new ways of seeing and thinking about the world as images seem to bubble up from your subconscious. Try to avoid breaking off relations with partners, both business and personal. To make the most of this period, you want to bring about life changes that will lead to personal growth and evolution as you reassess your values, reflect on your intuition and explore your inventiveness and creativity. Learn to recognize what is working in your life and take steps to redefine your dreams, ambitions and aspirations.

A New Moon occurs when the Moon and the Sun are in the same sign at the same degree - usually once a month. It is a time of concentrated energies and new beginnings. This month's New Moon is on July 2 at 7:19pm at 11°32' Cancer. The New Moon's message is to look within for inspiration and plant the seeds now for what you want to happen in your life. The Full Moon will bring what you ask for at the New Moon. The Full Moon is on July 18 at 26 °24' Capricorn at 3:59am. The earthy Capricorn Full Moon creates practical, disciplined energy in order for you to get things done. :-)

The Astrology of April 2008

The big news this month happens on April 2nd with Pluto, the planet of extremes, turning retrograde at 1° Capricorn. Pluto stays retrograde until September 9, 2008. Pluto signifies our perspective on the world our conscious and subconscious. Since so many of Plutos qualities are centered on the deeper mysteries of life, the house position of Pluto in your own personal chart, and aspects to it, can show you how to attain a deeper understanding of the importance of your spiritual life. On another level, you can experience a death of your old self when you realize the deeper significance of your life. This is the time to get rid of anything that is preventing you from becoming your best self. In the process will find yourself cleaning out closets, getting rid of old shoes, old clothes, pictures and things that were once an important part of you . You may even be cleaning out your friendship closet. You may realize that certain people who were once a very important part of your life have suddenly disappeared, or that you have nothing in common with them. This process is very necessary as you create an emptiness and a void. Keep in mind as you are throwing out all that old stuff that the Universe does NOT like a void, so you will quickly fill it with something new. Thus, the New You begins to come into being!! This is a very exciting time for all of us!!

More exciting news comes to us with the discovery and acknowledgement of a new planet - ERIS! Even though termed a "dwarf planet" along with Pluto, Eris was discovered in 2005 from plates going back to 2003, and originally nicknamed Xena. Eris is the only planet-type object that was temporarily named for a television drama heroine. This planet, well beyond Pluto, has a period of 556 years and was discovered as it traveled through the constellation of Aries. Eris discovery increases the size of the solar system to double the original diameter. It is too early to make a definitive statement regarding all the meanings of this new planet but some preliminary qualities attributed to Eris are those that represent her mythological character. She is one who struggles against injustice and oppression. She has her war-like and even blood-thirsty side, with the higher manifestation of defending the weak and standing up for oneself. Her placement and aspects to other planets correlate to the underdog warrior, speaking truth to power, and with also a willingness to resort to whatever means necessary to achieve her goals. It will be interesting to see how this new planet will show herself to us earthlings. Only time and research will tell. :-)

This months Full Moon takes place on the 20th at 6:25am EST and occurs at 0 °43 Scorpio. The New moon occurs on the 5th at 16 °44 Aries at 11:56pm. About Astrology

Astrology has been practiced by man for thousands of years; it is one of the world's oldest religions. 'What is your Sun sign?" is one of the most commonly asked questions between two people who are trying to get to know each other. Astrology fascinates people. For over 9,000 years man has looked to the heavens for insight into his troubles and for meaning in his life.

As civilizations evolved and the body of knowledge grew, the earliest astrologers kept meticulous calendars and more complete records of celestial movements. The most convenient way to study the stars was by connecting their groupings into recognizable patterns we now call constellations. The sky was thus divided into twelve segments each one represented by its own constellation.

It was also noted that the visible planets often appeared to wander through the sky against this backdrop of constellations. These planets eventually acquired personalities and mythologies of their own, and astrologers soon began to affix significance to the position of these planets against certain constellations in the sky. The night sky was a grand soap-opera, where gods and goddesses played out their dramas and the consequences were manifested on earth through droughts, floods and a host of natural occurrences.

There is not much in the heavens that is not cyclical - happening over and over. Astrology is the study and charting of these planetary cycles and cosmic events as they are reflected here on our earthly plane.

Early Philosophers and Astronomers discovered that all major cosmic events are interactive; that is, cosmic events millions of miles away from planet Earth represent an activity that takes place within ourself, our consciousness and in our outward daily life!! It is this repeating pattern that enables us to recognize heavenly events.

Astrology deals with ten planets. Eight of these are the sister planets of the Earth: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus Neptune, and Pluto. The other two are the Sun and the Moon, neither of which is a planet. (A planet circles the Sun.) However, as seen from the earth, the Sun and Moon follow the same path as the planets. Astrologers, interested in the relationships between the positions of ALL ten objects, simply call them the Ten Planets.

The movements and the cycles of planets as they rotate in their designated, patterned orbits act as a huge cosmic clock that ticks off the time and events, past, present and future. The path followed by the ten planets is called the ecliptic. The patterns that are revealed in the rhythmic motions of the planets seem to shed light on the helter skelter of our everyday lives.
